The Japanese have developed a fuel cell that runs on blood. Apparently it will assist in powering artificial body components. It also begs the question - if we went to war for oil then what would we do for this? Not sure if I want to even begin to contemplate the answer to that one.

hopefully our lives are worth more than the 6 litres of blood you might be able to get out of an average person.. hmm. Horses though. that's a different matter.
