Bionic Technology?

Having already read this story I am forced to conclude that the claims of a bionic arm are somewhat entusiastic - most probably an over-exuberant journalist but this is a cool story - certainly for medical research anyway. I'm sure Matt could enlighten us all...

yeah, well, as far as i can tell, the womans nerves have been damaged, so they're fixing up that bit with electrical tape. The thing is, human nerves don't grow back, and human muscles, if unstimulated, get a bit weak and weedy. so it's a good thing. Nice bit of use of electrical tape [and some sort of chip to figure out which signals should go to which chip, saves the surgeon having to do very fine soldering :-)]
