i've been looking at a 3MP image produced by a Canon PowerShot A300 and comparing it to a 6MP image produced by a Fuji A303 (3MP Super CCD) that produces 6MP images.

Personally, I thought the 3MP Canon image was better than the 6MP Fuji image resized down (using "bicubic" in fireworks) to the same size as the Canon image - and I thought the 6MP Canon image (resized in fireworks, using "bicubic") looked better than the 6MP Interpolated Fuji image. Both of the Canon images looked sharper / clearer - with better colour.

You can look at a 3MP image from a Fuji A210 using standard CCD here if you want to compare that to the Fuji Super CCD for a more fair comparison. There seems to be little difference between the A303 6MP image and a resized to 6MP (bicubic) Fuji A210 image - the only noticable difference seems to be what looks like jpeg artifacts, and less detail picked up by the a210. (the Canon a300 seems to have the clearest image of all) - A noisier image seems to have been produced by both the Fuji's noticable on the roof in the pictures.
