I can't believe the BBC would write such erm.. informed stuff..
Processors compared

Apple, Intel and AMD have all just launched high-powered processors.

Apples PowerPC G5 is ideal for archiving and preparing images in relatively inexpensive equipment.
AMD's Athlon 64 aims to prepare people to convert from 32- to 64-bit computing for greater efficiency. Intel's Itanium 2 is also a 64-bit chip, used in high-demand business servers.

And now my version:

Apple, Intel and AMD have all just launched high-powered processors.

Apples PowerPC G5 is ideal for storing information.
AMD's Athlon 64 and Intel's Itanium 2 are 64-bit chips. A pc is good for wordprocessing. the itanium can search databases. one day space invaders will be converted to 64 bit, then you have a good reason to buy an athlon.
