crash

"The car ended up on its roof in the garden of David Harries, 58, who said he had only just finished compiling a petition about speeding on the road."
this article is about a straight piece of road that has recently had a car crash. The cause of the crash isn't obvious, but the crash is getting plenty of press attention.

Will a new road sign make a difference?

I can't help thinking that, as the road was straight, there may have been some other factor that caused the accident. Its not like all roads that can have 60mph traffic on it also have crash barriers.
In addition if we treated every accident as seriously as this single incident, many bits of road would have speed restrictions put in place.
