The magnetic storms have forced air traffic controllers to alter some transatlantic flight plans. The US Federal Aviation Administration has also warned air passengers about increased radiation, according to the New York Times. People flying above 25,000 feet will be exposed to the equivalent of two days of ground radiation for every hour they travel above 35� North, the FAA said.
