Help me become a switcher!

I love the name of this blog: Make me switch. This guy wants to get a mac, but he's broke, therefore he figures that the 1 billion people on the internet must have enough spare change to give him enough money to buy a mac. Why oh why didn't I think of this? Oh yeah, I forgot, I am happy in my PC world. I like the bare faced cheek of this guy and can see him being successful (assuming paypal don't steal his money).

he needs 2thousand dollars and he'll be getting a 2ghz intel mac while he says he already had an overclocked pentium 4. So his current machine is an ancient laptop. and his reason to switch: he played with a mac in store for an hour or so. and yeah, paypal will be making about 500 or more dollars out of this.

amusingly he also mentions that the iMac he wants to buy can't play video and do applications at the same time (smoothly).
I played a 1080P video on the Mac Mini Core Solo and was introduced to a slide show. The Core Duo faired better... but only when the only thing running was the video. If I had a program or two in the background running then forget about it.

no, that's why he wants a 20" imac - coz the 20" imac does the videos okay and the mini macs don't. i think he brother has his p4 now or something. if you were gonna buy a computer matt, they were exact same spec exact same price, say £350 would you buy a mac or pc?

because they aren't the same price, i reckon a dell laptop for £330 is WAY better than a apple laptop for £700.

I am an American and I can honestly say that his action makes me ashamed. Seriously, get a fucking job like everyone else. For those who have already donated to his idiot cause, just know that you could have donated that money to an organization that helps the homeless or the sick and while in the process, claim it on your taxes. Idiots.

If I didn't have to pay, I'd go for the fastest machine that ran all software. So a mac. Although I'd really prefer a machine with user accessible pci slots (upgradable graphics etc.) but I also like small size machines (but then you lose if/when they break). Anyway good luck to you, well done for getting so far so quickly.
