this thing's weird. really weird.

ebay link

Megxon M500 - digital camera with 2.5" screen - plays MP3s, plays MPEG4/DIVX video files, will RECORD TV and fit 90 minutes on a 512mb SD card!! 6 built in games, dictaphone. It's got tv-in/out so that you can directly record TV onto it! It's like an ultra portable video recorder/player! (it's pretty small too, at 18.5mm thick) It does VGA/30fps videos and has STEREO AV in! It's also got an alarm clock and built in calendar.

more weirdness: super fujicam a cheapo digicam that's trying to cash in on the fuji/fujifilm name!

"They will defiantly want one"
"there is no way they will believe you when you tell them how much you paid it."
"MP3 Player ( like an Idop )"
"Portable Hard Drive and Built in File Browser"
- it might be a 5.1 mp digital camera.
"This is a Pre-order auction.
Goods will be landing in the Uk first week in July 05"
So I guess the question is: is this a very good value 5mp digicam with extra functions?

well i dunno - it depends whether you judge value by image quality, because image quality could be very poor. you normally would pay around £100 for a cheapo 5mp/no zoom camera, and maybe £130 for a 5mp/3x opt budget camera, so maybe it's pretty good value for money at £120.

i think it's very interesting and the price is quite good. it's got a cmos sensor and normally they're worse than ccd sensors in cheap cameras but who knows?

here we go - there's another digicam on there that does the tv recording: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=30018&item=7523515697&rd=1 i've seen someone selling this one (2" screen, 3mp cmos) for £99 buy now.

more info. (about the 2nd cam). click name for link. VGA/30fps low quality 62minutes on 256mb card, and presumably 2hours on a 512mb card. so you could record a whole film on a 512mb card while you're round at your mates watching whatever. that's pretty sweet!
