update another worm tries to fix the blaster problem (but fails) causing lots of internet traffic, according to this article, blaster has infected 1.5 million pcs. Microsoft think about turning Auto-Update on as a default option.

new worm "W32.Welchia.Worm" exploiting the RPC hole in Windows NT based systems (NT,2000,XP,2003) just when you thought it was safe to go back to sleep. remember to get your PC patched and protected and up to date, if you still not patched, there's a mirror here.

Also, using windowsupdate may not work perfectly, although using it is definitely better than not using it, but to make sure your system is completely up to date, it is recommended you use Microsoft's BaseLine Security Analyser.
