August may be a very good month for AMD:
They start selling 4 processor 'servers'
They start selling 2ghz opterons
The compilers available make opteron code run a little bit faster (34% faster than existing code compiled on their last compiler)
(of course it would be nice to see real benchmarks - this one suggests a 1.4 opteron is faster by a little or a noticeable gap than a p4 2.5ghz.)
- and with intels continuing competition with AMD (intel release 3ghz xeon July 13, 2.8ghz Xeon, 30 june), we should be able to get cheaper chips.
